All commands start with /. To send commands, simply type them into the chat and hit enter.
Some commands require admin privileges: to gain access to these admin commands, you must first toggle admin mode on by typing the /admin command. Commands requiring admin privileges have Admin Only in their description in the below table.

Starbound is all about the items, and sometimes you just want to make those items appear. Here's how to spawn items in your game instantly. While playing Starbound, you’ll always be on the hunt. I have built flat straight path over planet surface to allow me to solve 'Bring X to Y' quests swiftly. However it seems that I picked wrong planet - the quests are starting to be quite rare. Starbound was pretty much the perfect environment in which to experiment with procedural quest generation, thanks to its cartoony NPCs and wide variety of mechanics and activities. I’ve also learned how to make a better quest generation system. Outfits are based on the npc that they are named after, and include a head, chest, leg and sometimes a back item.Known issues: holding something while wearing a costume looks a little odd. Additionally, some commands require debug mode to be first activated by running the /debug command, the descriptions of these commands contain the label Debug Mode.
